Movie Haiku:Zohar is spectacular as an Ashkenazi matriarch. A member of Israel’s founding generation, she has silently watched her status erode with successive waves of new immigrants, until a troubled young Russian woman (Bukstein) arrives & reawakens her fighting spirit. Beautifully-made family saga with perfect mix of comic & tragic elements.
