| Movie Haiku: | Wasted for years, Owen’s fabulous as Sir Walter Raleigh, seducing luminous Elizabeth Rex (Blanchett) as well as her Lady-in-Waiting (Cornish). Morton’s equally superlative as doomed Mary Stewart. Putting his faith in “old-fashioned” narrative (except for too much CG in Spanish Armada scenes), Kapur’s film could come from Hollywood’s own “Golden Age.” | ADDITIONAL FF2 INFO ABOUT THIS FILM: | Women filmmakers? | No | Jewish content? | No | Haiku Posted: | 2007 | |
