Movie Haiku:Manhattan party girl (circa 1960) befriends an alienated young novelist. As she draws him into her reckless life, he falls in love & decides to “save” her. High-energy romantic comedy with a bittersweet core. Poor Mickey Rooney is badly used as a “Japanese” neighbor, but otherwise thoroughly, timelessly charming.
