Movie Haiku:“Rifke” and “Oshi” meet as teenagers. Oshi’s grandparents immigrated to Mexico from Turkey, and her enormous Sephardic family still speaks Ladino at home. Rifke’s parents came from Poland, and her tiny Ashkenazi family still speaks Yiddish at home. Familiar “melting pot” debates fluidly incorporated into a insightful coming-of-age dramedy. Not yet seen by Rich.
