Movie Haiku:Rich was moved by a Fiennes''s first-person reflections on German guilt after WWII, but Jan was enraged by this callous adaptation of a serious, thoughtful novel. Are we supposed to feel sorry for the poor illiterate woman (Winslet) who was once an Auschwitz guard, while condemning the Jewish woman (Olin) grows rich from publishing her Holocaust memoir?!?
