| | Movie Haiku: | If you loved LES MIZ on stage, you will love this adaptation, but if not, beware. For sure there are some good songs, but long stretches of tedium with bad songs in between. Jackman is OK in the center, but Russell Crowe is dreadful. Helena Bonham Carter & Sacha Baron Cohen (so great in SWEENY TODD) are painful to watch here. Luckily Hathaway is terrific & Redmayne is a revelation as Marius. |
