Movie Haiku:Oscar-winning movie musical classic. The production numbers (music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, choreography by Jerome Robbins) achieve the pinnacle of success, leaving the spaces in between relatively flat in comparison. Best Supporting Oscars for Chakiris & Moreno. Great work by Beymer & Tamblyn. Natalie Wood? She’s OK.
