Movie Haiku:Despite the brilliant opening sequence (depicting ordinary soldiers hurled into the chaos of Omaha Beach on D-Day), the predicable narrative & characters from “central casting” undermine the over all effort. The movie has many poignant moments & terrific performances, but the whole effect verges on audience manipulation.
